Back In The Habit

Alrighty! So I'm feeling better today - mostly because the scale started moving again (in the right direction I might add) and my food intake has been better.

Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed the other half of my banana and a vanilla fat free yoplait yogurt. Yes, I forgot the blasted picture.

Last nights dinner consisted of a Subway feast. I've been on a Subway kick lately but that's okay because it worked for Jared right? Anywho, I opted for a 6 inch turkey breast on wheat with cheese (I had the calories to splurge), onion, pickles, a little light mayonnaise, vinegar and oregano. I had apples as a side and a coke zero to wash it all down. I remembered to take the picture halfway through the nomming process.

I also had a little dark chocolate square.

This morning was my standard cheerios and milk, but with banana again.  Gotta really work on getting those fruits and veggies in. (lol, veggies).

Summary:

Snack -

1 container Yoplait Very Vanilla fat free yogurt
1/2 large banana

Dinner -

1 package Subway apples
1 20 oz Coke zero
1 6 inch turkey breast on wheat with onion, pickles, light mayo, oregano and vinegar.

Breakfast -

1 cup Cheerios
1 cup nonfat milk
1/2 large banana

I Bet You Gave Up On Me, Didn't You?

That's okay, usually I'd have given up on me too. Not this time though. I had a pretty rough week with being sick last week and then recovering. I hadn't been to the gym and I'm creeping up on my time of the month so I've been wanting to eat everything in sight. It all culminated with a pity party last night and me deciding that I wasn't just going to "start over Monday" or give up entirely like I always do. I decided to get back on track this morning - blogging included - and here I am!

Breakfast was my standard cereal and milk but I made sure I added the banana this time. Lunch was a mish mash of things I felt would cure my craving of salty goodness. I plan on going to the gym tonight (hey, I've been working out since Monday still at least, and skated Sunday) and I'm not going to give in to my weak will. I forgot to take a picture of my lunch before I dove in, but hey at least I  took a picture right?

Summary:

Breakfast

1 cup Cheerios
1/2 banana
1 cup nonfat milk

Lunch

1/2 cup egg whites with salt and pepper
1 package Bachman pretzel sticks with spicy mustard
1 snack cup unsweetened applesauce

No Picture Required

I feel like complete garbage this morning. The only reason I hauled my cookies into work is because I have to process payroll today and tie up some other odds and ends. I might ask to leave early, I see a lot of napping and tv in my future this afternoon. Therefore my breakfast consisted of 2 tsp of Robitussin DM for cough and chest congestion, a few lemon mint sugar free Ricola drops, water, and a small container of natural applesauce so I don't keel over from not eating.

Blargh.

I'm A Mess

A sick, disgusting mess.

I didn't bother taking pictures of my food yesterday because quite frankly there wasn't much to be said for what I ate. I had another bowl of Cheerios without banana around 3, then some peanut butter and jelly toast at 4:30. I went to the gym, came home, showered and ate a bowl of chicken noodle soup which I actually did take a picture of. Clearly it wasn't that good of a picture but you get the point. I also indulged in a handful of cranberry coconut granola and some throat coolers.

Summary:

Lunch -

1 cup of Cheerios
1 cup of nonfat milk

Snack -

1 slice 100% whole wheat toast
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp strawberry raspberry jam

Dinner -

1 can of Progresso white meat chicken noodle soup
1 bag of veggie crisps
1 handful of FEED cranberry/coconut granola

So Where's The Banana?

I was all excited this morning because the groceries came today right after I got into the office. This meant a giant bowl of Cheerios and a banana. But alas, as you can tell from the picture there WAS no banana. The delivery person delivered them but they were green green green. I like a good barely-ripe banana a lot more than I like the mushy brown spotted disasters but these were too green for my taste. I settled for a regular bowl of Cheerios instead in hopes that by tomorrow the bananas will be ripe for the picking. Pun very much intended.

Summary:

1 cup of nonfat milk
1 cup Cheerios

Sometimes You Just Have A Craving

So I resigned myself to being Sicky McSickerton (sort of) but I went to the gym for a light workout anyway. Before I even left for the gym I had a strong craving for tuna on an everything bagel with plantain chips - a nod to the days of Whole Foods eating with Stacy. So I went to the market after the gym (not Whole Foods sadly) and grabbed some tuna and mayo. Unfortunately the only everything bagels I could find were either 300 calories a piece and/or contained high fructose corn syrup. I would have settled for a frozen Lenders bagel but they didn't seem to carry those either. I was about to purchase generic Thomas' 100 calorie mini bagels when I remembered that I had some whole grain English muffins at home. Meh, that'll do. I also couldn't find any plantain chips - which to be honest is probably a good thing because I could have eaten a whole bag right then and there. I settled for a box of the 100 calorie pack veggie crisps and made my way home.

After being Little Miss Accident and almost slicing off my finger while chopping onion and then dropping the bowl the tuna was made in on the way to the sink I figured it was best to sit down, watch some teevee and enjoy my dish. I also figured since I hadn't had much earlier in the day that tossing in a few blueberries for antioxidants couldn't hurt.

Summary:

1 bag Veggie Chips (100 calorie pack)
1/4 cup blueberries
1 small can tuna in water, drained
1 tbsp safflower oil mayonnaise
smattering of diced onion
1 english muffin sliced open, toasted - 100% whole wheat

Sicky Lunch And Snacky Time

Well I finally decided to eat something around 2. There was a bowl of Progresso chicken noodle in the cabinet that looked pretty good so I went with that. I added a buttload of pepper but it was sooooo salty. Aside from the salt it hit the spot, but I definitely couldn't finish the broth. I nommed a few throat coolers and vitamin C drops during the afternoon and I made peanut butter and jelly (remember that heavenly jam from Friday? mmmm). Unfortunately we were out of wheat bread so I had to settle for white. I haven't had white bread in forever.

I'm planning on going to the gym tonight so I don't have a break in routine but I'm probably only going to do some light biking. I feel like ass and I don't want to make it w
ork. Plus then I have about a mile to walk home. Ugh.

Summary:

Lunch:

1 can Progresso white
 meat chicken noodle soup

Snack:

1 slice country white toast
2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp jelly (it just came running out of the jar, who am I to argue?)

Weekend Wrap Up/Superbowl Sunday

I was home this weekend with the exception of last night so I really have no excuses for eating and not taking pictures except I'm plain forgetful sometimes. I'm also feeling a bit under the weather and not in a chatty mood so I'll be brief. I also took like, 2 pictures but you get my drift.

Friday night I made some tacos and I had 4 of the crunchy spicy goodness.

Saturday I laid in bed all day reading Confessions of a Shopaholic from 10 am until 2 pm so my "breakfast" was also my "lunch". I made 3/4 cup of eggbeaters and had what was supposed to be 1/4 cup of FEED Cranberry and Coconut granola but it ended up being more like 1/2 a cup because I kept nomming kibbles from the bag before I put it away. I then did about an hour and fifteen minutes of We Cheer. God I love that game.

Saturday night after cleaning my room and bathroom from top to bottom and going to get my eyebrows waxed (ah, the things we do for beauty) I grabbed a Dunkin Donuts medium coffee, regular with cream and sugar. I also grabbed stuff to make homemade queso dip but I "behaved" and got the 2% velveeta and organic blue corn chips. I also used the 93% lean ground beef and threw in some extra onion on top of the volcano salsa. It was so, so good. Hit a craving spot I've been having for weeks. I ate probably a cup of the queso and a good 20 chips or so.

Sunday morning I woke up and had to primp to go to the skating rink and get ready to head out to see my love for Superbowl Sunday afterwards. Again by the time I ate it was almost noon and I had the same combo of eggbeaters and granola but - god that granola is good, although it tends to get stuck in my teeth easily. After gabbing with my roommates some I realized I was late to my skating lessons so I booked it out the door to return 2 hours later with another Dunkin Donuts medium regular coffee, cream and sugar. If I had thought about it the day before I wouldn't have gotten one and kept my DD Coffee treat to Sunday only (which will be the norm from now on with my lessons). I walked back home, changed and packed, then walked back to the subway and headed out to see T.

We made a pit stop to get some stuff to make french
onion dip (I got the low fat sour cream and onion soup mix), more queso (using the same "low fat" ingredients), and stuff to make mini bagel pizzas (I got the 100 calorie mini bagels and part skim mozzarella). We also got regular tortilla chips but baked Ruffles instead of the regular kind. So, despite it being Gluttony Fest 2009 (with the addition of the pastry puff assortment - pigs in blankets, spicy beef turnovers, potato puffs and the like) we at least made a conscious effort to get better, healthier versions of otherwise "Bad" food so I'm pretty pleased. I did however end the night with a bowl of cherry gelato/vanilla ice cream because my throat was, and is all scratchy and hurty.

Summary:

Friday Night:

4 crunchy taco shells with seasoned 93% ground beef, sprinkling of sharp cheese, sour cream and hot sauce

Saturday Day:

3/4 cup Egg Beaters
1/2 cup FEED granola, coconut cranberry flavor

Saturday Night:

1 medium  coffee from Dunkin Donuts with cream and sugar

About one cup of homemade queso made with 2 lbs of Velveeta 2% milk, 1 lb 93% ground beef, 1 small yellow onion and 1 jar of Volcano chunky salsa.
About 20 chips, Garden of Eaten blue corn

Sunday Day:

3/4 cup Egg Beaters
1/2 cup FEED granola, coconut cranberry flavor

1 medium coffee from Dunkin Donuts, cream and sugar

Sunday Night:

I don't remember exactly but it was something like...

2 spicy beef turnovers
2 bagel pizza bites
2 buffalo chicken bites
3 pigs in blankets with mustard
A fair bit of french onion dip and baked ruffles
A fair bit of queso and tortilla chips
2 cans of coke zero
a couple vitamin C drops
1 bowl of cherry gelato/vanilla ice cream

Whew. Piggy. I also thought I wrote a lot considering I said I wasn't going to write much. I'd also like to point out that it's now 1:03 in the afternoon and the only thing I've had today has been 2 children's throat coolers and some water. Oh, and a vitamin C drop. I should eat something I suppose. Maybe there's some soup laying around the kitchen. Ew sodium but...meh, I need to eat especially if I'm going to workout tonight.
